Qualifications

I have a Diploma in Canine Psychology graded "A" (Distinction) and have had many years of helping friends and family members with troubled dogs. I am currently applying for an Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour Management which is accredited by ASET and is the same level as a foundation degree with a view to toping it up to a BSc in Applied Animal Behaviour within three years. I am working toward applying for accreditation from BIPDT (British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers) APBC (Association of Applied Behaviour Councellors) and UKRCB (UK Registry of Canine Behaviourists) but this takes time, alot of study and trust. I am always seeking to improve my knowledge by learning from my clients dogs and reading as many books as I can find on the subject. I will soon be embarking upon further training courses with a view to teaching agility and K9 sports in the near future. I do not have as many qualifications as some behaviourists and qualifications are important in this line of work, but you could have every degree under the sun, that doesn't automatically make you good with people or animals. I think its how you apply the knowledge you have gained and how you deal honestly with clients that get their confidence in you. Nurses, Doctors, Police Officers, Fire Fighters etc all have to start somewhere and they are the people we trust our lives with, without knowing their length of service or experience. I work closely with members of the public in my full time employment and am now working closer with dogs so I believe I have the best of both experiences to offer. A lot of my referrals are by word of mouth and hope that if you contact me and like what I do, you will do the same. My dream has always been to have my own behavioural business and I cannot wait to help and share my knowledge with you.
